Microppose .22 Micron Air Filter Vent

This Microppose .22 Micron Air Filter Vent acts as a tool to allow gas exchange in culture containers, grain jars and liquid cultures.

The strong 3M adhesive can withstand autoclave temperatures in excess of 250F at 15psi for extended periods when kept covered and dry during sterilization. The overall diameter of the filter is 18mm and the air hole is 10mm (.39″), perfect for standard 1/4″ jar lid holes. This product can be stuck to clean hard surfaces, including standard metal jar lids and plastic jar lids. Not intended for soft materials, like poly bags.

When applying these filters, make sure that the surface of the lid is smooth, clean and that the lid hole is not in excess of the size of the filter’s hole. If the lid hole is too large for the filter, they may not operate as intended. For best results, apply the filter vent accurately so that it is in the center most position over the lid hole. The Ball brand black plastic lids are not smooth, since they feature recessed lettering molded into the plastic. The uneven surface may affect the performance of the adhesive during sterilization runs. Opt for smooth lids.
